Orient ODBMS

Fast
With its innovative architecture, Orient ODBMS can handle thousands
of transactions per second with minimal use of resources.
Accesses are optimised by the intelligent cache that, transparently to
the user, maintains the most used objects in memory.
Navigation among linked objects doesn't happen by expensive Joins
between tables (such as Relational Databases), but with direct
accesses, obtaining real-time performances.
In the Multi-threads version the user application can create multiple
sessions to access to the database by different threads with a parallel
access to the information.
Benchmarks show performance of 10, 100 and also 1000 times superior to
RDBMS with complex databases.
Object Oriented
Orient ODBMS is a 100% Pure Object Database engine: just one model
for the analysis of application and database, the Object Oriented.
Orient ODBMS can handle application objects directly (C++ object, Java,
etc.), without need to translate their such as happens for Relational
DBMS.
It supports all Object Oriented concepts such as inheritance,
polymorphism, member hiding, etc.
Orient ODBMS supports C++ and Java language
Time to market
The development process of an Object Oriented application with
Orient ODBMS permits to save from 50% to 80% of time in comparison to
the use of a Relational Database.
The advantage is in the total integration between application and
database.
User application doesn't worry about the conversion of objects from/to
database, since everything is automatically managed by Orient ODBMS
middleware.
Visual tools speed up development cycle with user friendly interface
(screenshots).
To migrate to the Enterprise Edition doesn't need to modify the application since both editions share the same interface.
In this way you can easy scale up to the Enterprise Edition for more complex and distributed architectures.
StandardOrient ODBMS compliances to the ODMG 3.0 international
standard (check the compliance list) that is the de-facto standard for
the Object Storage.
Furthermore Orient ODBMS supports a subset of SQL-92 for queries with
extension for object manipulation.
Orient ODBMS supports directly Sun JDO 1.0 and it's member of Sun JDO
Expert Group. JDO support it's totally integrated: you can use JDO
without external tools.
Free and Open Source
Just Edition is FREE for any use. Orient is released under Apache 2.0 license.
